Davies leads D.C. United with 6 goals. |
But what about the people who will be attending? What about the DC SCORES supporters whom you can join to directly invest in the well-being of 800 District youth?
Many long-time supporters have already bought their tickets; several established members of the Washington, DC business community are looking forward to the event; and, oh, D.C. United’s new star will make his presence felt.
Yes, that’s right. Charlie Davies is coming to the Gala in support of DC’s largest youth soccer program.
If you’re unfamiliar with Davies, you won’t be for long. He is quickly emerging as one of the District’s brightest young sports stars – alongside the Wizards’ John Wall and the Nationals’ Stephen Strasburg and (coming soon) Bryce Harper.
In his first season with United – and first in Major League Soccer – Davies leads the team in goals, with six through nine games. That’s good for second in MLS behind U.S. Olympic hero Landon Donovan.
And Davies is just getting back to full strength, as he’s battling back from severe injuries sustained in an October 2009 car accident. The future is very, very bright for this 24-year-old soccer star, who will be on stage at the Corcoran to give out the event’s Inspiration Award to Pepco’s Beverly Perry and U.S. Congresswoman Marcia Fudge.
To join Davies and other prominent community members at this unique event, don’t wait any longer. Less than 50 tickets remain for the chance to support DC SCORES’ innovative program with a fun-filled night of art, food, drinks, performance and soon-to-be-famous community members.
Get your tickets here before online sales close at 12 p.m. Wednesday.
