The juggling's over, but Kick, Click, & SCORE Challenge continues until July 11

DC SCORES Executive Director Amy Nakamoto – and the rest of our staff – is back in the office today, performing normal duties. Sadly, the days of juggling on the corner of a busy District street corner are over after last week’s two-day marathon – although our feet and legs are happy about the rest.

But the Kick, Click, & SCORE Challenge is far from its completion. Thanks to generous donors, we are on the cusp of raising $50,000 since Amy began juggling last Thursday morning. We are very appreciative of everyone who has contributed to the campaign, whether they could give a lot or a little.

We still have a long way to go, however. Our goal for the challenge was to raise $130,000, filling a revenue gap for the financial year that ends August 31, and that remains our objective.

This afternoon, our six-week summer camp at Bruce-Monroe Elementary School – one of three DC SCORES summer opportunities -- kicked off, giving hundreds of District kids a productive environment in which to exercise, learn and thrive during the sweltering summer months. In order to maintain such aspects of our program, we really need to close this revenue shortfall during the next couple weeks.

Visit kickclickandscore.org to learn more about the challenge and to donate. Every dollar will make a difference toward not having to cut any important elements of our program for the 700 youth it serves.

See the video above for a message from a past DC SCORES participant.
