Welcome to the DC SCORES blog

Hey Everybody!

Welcome to the DC SCORES blog, a site that, along with our Web site and Facebook, will focus on the great work going on inside the classrooms and on the soccer fields at our 23 elementary and middle schools here in DC.

But while our Web site is more informative, and our Facebook fan page focuses on brief updates, this site will expand on everything we do here at DC SCORES.

There will be write-ups about our visits to the 17 elementary and six middle schools we serve. There will be columns from our knowledgeable staffers about the issues our program addresses. And we'll keep you updated on what's going on in D.C. when it comes to soccer, poetry, and service -- the three aspects of D.C. SCORES -- and provide education news.

We'll also keep things bright and colorful with pictures and video featuring our kids in action -- whether they're playing hard on the soccer field or rhyming in the classroom.

Finally, this will also be a place to come for information about upcoming events. Be sure to check out the sidebar for all of that information and for links to our other online resources as well the other America SCORES sites across the country.

And, of course, you can always offer feedback on anything we post by simply clicking on the "comment" link at the bottom of every article. We'll check for comments daily and be sure to respond to them.
