Compassionate. Dedicated. Enthusiastic.
Those three qualities are what every organization looks for in a board member and volunteer leader. That’s exactly what DC SCORES found in Jack Reagan.
Not surprisingly, those three words are how Jack describes DC SCORES.
After becoming involved in DC SCORES and joining our board, Jack joined our League of Champions. Contributing to DC SCORES as a member of the League of Champions is important to Jack because of his motivation to help DC Public School students. He has long served DCPS in a professional capacity, and he is now enjoying serving in a volunteer capacity.
The unique combination of soccer, poetry, and service-learning is what drew Jack to DC SCORES. Knowing that we are helping students develop physical fitness, confidence, and teamwork while providing an outlet for their creativity gives Jack a great sense of satisfaction.
Jack is a terrific ambassador for DC SCORES and always looks for opportunities to introduce others to our work. Within days of starting his new job at Grant Thornton earlier this year, Jack began putting together a team for the annual DC SCORES Cup soccer tournament. Soon thereafter, Jack hosted one of our “mobile” High Five! Tours at his office in Alexandria, VA.
Jack was a “sports guy” growing up. He played soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and baseball in the spring and summer. Hardly a day went by when Jack wasn’t on the field or court. That sports involvement continues today — both watching and participating. Jack loves to watch his kids play sports, and also likes to get out on his road bike. And in June, Jack served as goalie for the Grant Thornton team in the DC SCORES Cup.
So whether it’s making saves on the field or discussing finances in a board meeting, Jack remains compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic about DC SCORES.
Thank you, Jack, for being part of our team!
