DC SCORES Cup sponsored by DirecTV to feature record 32 teams

When more than 500 professionals from the Washington, DC region take to the soccer fields at the Maryland SoccerPlex tomorrow for the DC SCORES Cup, regardless of which teams takes home the two trophies one company name will stand out - DirecTV.

DirecTV has been a corporate partner of DC SCORES since 2011 and is the lead sponsor of this year’s SCORES Cup - the biggest charity soccer tournament in the Washington, DC, greater area. And with 32 teams, this year’s tournament is the largest in its 12-year history.

In sponsoring the event, DirecTV recognizes the value of what the SCORES Cup provides not only to the 1,500 kids in the DC SCORES program this year, but also to the companies and players who participate in the tournament.

Each year the SCORES Cup -- formerly known as the Sharks vs. Suits Shootout -- grows bigger and has become one of the favorite events of the year for players at the participating companies and law firms. It is a fun way for companies to promote teamwork for their employees while supporting an important mission.
