Through this blog, we attempt to highlight different aspects of our program, those who make DC SCORES work, as well as the challenges we face and combat on a daily basis.
We know, however, that our audience is limited – although it continues to grow each week – and we’re not reaching many people who are interested in issues such as childhood development, soccer, poetry, fighting childhood obesity, and more.
That is why we put forth a great deal of effort into pitching story ideas to local media outlets such as The Washington Post that reach a much, much wider audience. Lately, we’ve gotten a great deal of media coverage from a variety of sources.
Here are some of the recent news items featuring DC SCORES:
June 25, Fox-5 news (includes video): Local Group, DC SCORES, Uses Soccer Stunt to Raise Support and Funds
June 29, Association & Non-profit Bisnow: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL!
June 30, The Washington Post: Area foundations' giving dropped 9.6% in 2009 after economy crashed
July 12, The Washington Post's weekly Capital Business section: Kicking up a storm for D.C. youths
