At DC SCORES, we’re as aware as anybody that the weather getting colder and the possibility – while not likely – of another “Snowmageddon” on the horizon does not mean a break in soccer season.

We know there are people out there who’d love to put on the longsleeves for a day and claim a unique prize – an outdoor soccer winter championship.

Thus, we’re holding the first annual DC SCORES Holiday Classic Presented by District Sports Dec. 11 at Cardozo High School.

All proceeds from the 12-team round-robin tournament will benefit the 800 poet-athletes in our program.

Now is the time to get in on the fun before the limited spots fill up. Registration is just $450 for a team up of to 15 and includes shirts; snacks throughout the day; free drinks and food specials at Duffy’s Irish Pub, the sponsor bar; and the chance to win prizes such as a $100 gift certificate to Duffy’s.

DC SCORES Holiday Classic

WHAT: 7v7 co-ed soccer tournament

WHERE: Cardozo Senior High School

WHEN: Saturday, Dec. 11, 8am-4:30pm

Team registration fee of $450 includes

• Team guaranteed at least three games played on Cardozo High School’s turf fields
• Team receives 15 shirts to wear during the tournament
• Participants receive free drink tickets to Duffy’s Irish Pub and tournament specials all afternoon
• Winner receives 15 long-sleeve champion shirts and a $100 gift certificate to Duffy’s Irish Pub
• Most Creative Team Name wins a $50 gift certificate to Duffy’s Irish Pub
