DC SCORES prepared for action-packed Fall Frenzy celebration

Imagine a large field on which, simultaneously, several soccer games are being played, dozens of faces are getting painted, yoga sessions are taking place, and a fire engine is being explored.

That’s what you’ll find tomorrow at the 16th annual DC SCORES Fall Frenzy. Beginning at 10 a.m., students from all 25 of our schools will converge on Kelly Miller Middle School for four hours of constant activity.

Each school’s boys and girls team will get the opportunity to play a handful of games against teams from the other side of the city that they don’t play during the regular season.

The game schedule will be broken up by stops at booths such as Infinity Wellness, where students will get a good anaerobic workout through speed and agility exercises and then cool down with yoga poses. Students will also get the opportunity to have their faces painted whatever they want – always a favorite stop; explore a DC fire truck; learn about proper nutrition habits with the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) 4-H organization; and more!

In case they need an energy boost, DC’s own DJ RBI will be dropping beats all day and four Radio-One stations will be on hand with free giveaways and, possibly, some music of their own.

Parents, friends, and community members are encouraged to stop by and support the poet-athletes at this grand celebration of the DC SCORES fall season. We hope to see you there!
